Serenity Now!

You know the quote/prayer “grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference”

Well in these current times it seems like most things can’t be changed and very few things are within my control to change (without external assistance such as Amazon deliveries and Martin's support in watching the kids so I can find time for just me).

But this past weekend I did find one thing within my control.... and let’s just say I might have enjoyed the moment of control a little too much. I think I got a little carried away:

The "good" news is there appears to be plenty of time for it to grow back before things go back to normal.

A Handy Kind of Guy

I have always known that Martin is incredibly handy. I mean he renovated our whole house by himself, designed and built the addition at Pillsbury and has done countless work around Timber Cove to finish up where the contractor left off. And yet he still seems to surprise me.

This past weekend on our drive up to Timber Cove I floated the idea of a play structure by him. Saturday morning I drew up the following picture and before lunch on Saturday he had taken supplies from around the house and built exactly what I was hoping for. And while I sometimes accuse him of over engineering things (like when setting up our tent in France) and had concerns during the process (always playing the role of management) the kids and I have no complaints!
