Some wise person once said that travel is the only thing you can spend money on that is truly worth it. You have the fun of planning the trip and anticipation of looking forward to it. You get the experience itself. And then you get the memories and joy of looking back on the trip. Once we locked in the dates and location (Germany, London, Cornwall, Germany/London), I went overboard on planning the first London leg of the trip.
All of my previous trips to London had been with locals or for work so the time was limited to favorite local pubs and the office. This time around, I wanted to actually see London including the historic sites and learn about the city.
And with the help of ChatGPT, Instagram and a few late night searches I had a very long list of things I wanted to do and see with the family. It might have been too much, and we might have had a few meltdowns due to lack of food and too much walking (not dissimilar to my meltdown from my first trip to London with Martin) but we did see a lot and had some impromptu fun in the meantime.
